About Your Area Developments R&A Links Monitoring Campaigns
BAQMG has again teamed up with the Safer Routes to Schools teams to implement the 'cut pollution!' initiative for schools across the County. Chairman of the BAQMG, Ben Coakley, originally designed the cut your engine signs as a result of feedback from local schools and parents of school children that were tired of vehicles running for up to 30 minutes outside of school gates at the end of the school day. The signs are hoped to reduce localised pollution and increase awareness and are delivered in conjunction with air quality teaching packs for Key Stages 1-4 at the schools receiving the signs. It is hoped that by trying to reach students at an early age that they may be able to influence parents into reducing emissions and eventually their reliance on the car.
