First steps have been taken in a scheme to make our children’s journeys to school safer. The scheme, backed by the County Council, is designed to improve pedestrian safety and reduce unnecessary car use near schools across Buckinghamshire.Hamilton Primary School in Wycombe has seen the first to benefit, and will be a model for further schools. The Hamilton project for example, includes a 20mph speed zone close to the school, traffic calming measures and improved facilities for cycling. The scheme depends upon the support of schools, local communtities, and local businesses to work at its best. The scheme is being rolled out throughout the various districts of Buckinghamshire. For further details contact 01296 383957.
