Industrial Regulations
In addition to the investigation of complaints made by the public
regarding factories and industrial processes, the Council issues
Authorisations and Permits to operate to certain industrial operations
that are carried out in the District.
Industrial activities are regulated either by the Council or by the
Environment Agency. The types of industrial activities which may be
subject to Authorisation and Permits are wide ranging, from foundries
and larger paint sprayers, to petrol stations and dry cleaners.
It should be noted that not all industrial activities require an
Authorisation or Permit to operate.
